Atlanta Falcons' new social media icon was pulled down.

This was the new social media avatar of the NFL team the Atlanta Falcons. Somebody didn't do their history homework. See those 8.1k comments? They have something to say about it.

Almost all of it had to do with marching Nazis and World War II.

One person gave it a "nein out of ten."

Another said "The Falcons were up 28-3 at Dunkirk."

As PR maven Brooke Hammerling put it: "The amount of people who had to approve this is staggeirng and yet here we are." It lasted more than 24 hours before it was quietly retracted.

I am losing track of how many times large corporations and brands that either carelessly fast-track their approvals or are blissfully unaware of the messages they are sending out.

This one is not even a racial thing or a sexist thing.

It is a sheer across-the-board ignorance thing. I can say a lot worse, so just use your imagination.
