Good Good Golf former CEO's key comment about social media approvals

Five people have either stepped down or been let go since the Good Good Golf/Callaway Golf ad blew up on August 21st. Four of them were from Good Good Golf.
GOOD GOOD GOLF
1. CEO/Co-Founder Matt Kendrick. He did all the public communication since the incident.
2. President Joe Flannery.
3. VP of Brand and Marketing Jeffrey Lefkovits.
4. Unnamed employee, likely in the marketing department.
CALLAWAY GOLF
1. Director of Content and Production Alex Upegui
Garrett Clark, the Good Good Golf co-founder who shoved the woman to the ground in the ad, is keeping his job.
CEO Chip Brewer admitted Callaway signed off on the ad, but he still has a job.
Kendrick made a very telling comment to Front Office Sports before he left:
"I don't approve every social post that goes up — that doesn't come across my desk. Just like it wouldn't go across (Callaway CEO) Chip Brewer's desk."
Bud Light holds the crown for ad backlash, and Cracker Barrel has theirs for logo change, but for sexist bro marketing, Good Good Golf and Callaway share this honor.
Can something this far-reaching be a warning to companies to re-examine their marketing and social media approvals and add more impartial eyes to the pipeline?
Are C-Suites going to meet after Labor Day to discuss how they can prevent being the "next Good Good Golf" or "next Callaway?"
I am sure some will take heed but most won't.
As a previous client once said to me: "Why should I worry about a crisis if it hasn't happened yet?"
