Losing more arguments is good

Reading “Next Gen CEO” by Mike Soutar during breakfast at Mee Sum Cafe in Manhattan’s Chinatown.
I happened to be at the part where Mike says “Losing more arguments than you win is a sign of greatness.”
Sunday morning business irony. What did he mean by this?
It’s about the power of constructive dissent — if your staff is confident enough to challenge your thinking and change your mind, it means they are seriously committed to the company’s success.
Aha.
Inspired by my Chinatown breakfast, I decided Mike should title his book’s sequel “Next Zen CEO.”
But I’m afraid I will almost certainly lose that argument.
